Like many of the new 'breed' of fiddlers I studied the Suzuki violin method at an early age until I attended a Fiddle Contest and heard the passion and fun in Old-Time and Bluegrass music. I was hooked and over the next decade learned what I could from the many great fiddlers and musicians I met along my while way winning many fiddle contests across the U.S. 
 
I attended the Crane School of Music for a year as a music major on trombone, left, got involved in theatre at my next college and realized I could perform onstage in shows. After a stint in a Renaissance Festival as a minstrel and court dancer, I played in a country cover band for a year in New England and then wound up in New York City. I studied on/off for many years with Improvising Violinist Julie Lyonn Lieberman and made my way into the field of music and theatre. Eventually while living in Los Angeles I studied with legendary bluegrass fiddler Richard Greene. 
 
David has played beside artists as diverse as Alan Cumming, Serj Tankian, Tony Bennett, Kylie Minogue, Amanda Palmer, Justin Vivian Bond, and Dee Snider from Lincoln Center in NYC to the Castro Theatre in San Francisco. Most recently he can be seen/heard in the PBS special Alan Cumming Sings Sappy Songs

I got a chance to play solo chromatic harmonica as the Mock Turtle in the opera Alice In Wonderland with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Walt Disney Concert Hall and also with the BBC Symphony Orchestra in London. I was in the cast of the Tony award-winning revival of Cabaret at Studio 54 on Broadway playing trombone and violin/viola.  In 2011 I made my West End debut in London with Best Musical nominee Woody Sez in which I played fiddle, guitar, banjo, harmonica and another half-dozen instruments and in 2013 I even played Spoons on ex-Democratic Presidential nominee Dennis Kucinich's lap! 

Off- Broadway credits include Allegro with John Doyle, Fame on 42nd Street and the New York premiere of Tennessee Williams’ 60-year-old play, Spring Storm. He also spent several years touring Europe, the U.S. and Canada with Fame the Musical, after that he spent a year on the Cabaret National tour ending in Tokyo, Japan. Regionally he has performed in most of the U.S.
